Rays Acquire Eric Sogard, Cubs Win, Cardinals Lose

The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired infielder Eric Sogard from the Toronto Blue Jays. Sogard didn’t have to travel far to join his new teammates as they were in the midst of a series and he merely had to walk to the opposite dugout.

Toronto Blue Jays traded pitcher Marcus Stroman to the New York Mets for pitching prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods-Richardson.

Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer made highlight reels Sunday while getting roughed up by the Kansas City Royals and he heaved the ball over the center-field wall as manager Terry Francona came out to give him the hook.
