The Minnesota Twins pulled off a rare triple play against the New York Yankees Monday night. The Twins went on to win the game 8-6.

The triple play started the game in the first inning. Yankees' DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Judge drew walks to begin the inning. Edwin Encarnacion hit a grounder and third baseman Luis Arraez fielded it, stepped on third then threw to second baseman Jonathan Schoop, who turned and fired it to first baseman Miguel Sano to finish out the triple play.

It was the 13th triple play for the Twins since 1961.

Rangers Place Kelley On IL

Pirates Suspend Keone Kela

The Pittsburgh Pirates suspended relief pitcher Keone Kela for two games because of an unspecified violation of his Uniform Player’s Contract. The suspension came just as he was reinstated from the 60-day injured list.
