Mariners Trade Jay Bruce To Phillies

The Seattle Mariners have traded former All-Star outfielder Jay Bruce to the Philadelphia Phillies. As part of the deal, Seattle agreed to pay the Phillies over $18 million of the $21 million-plus Bruce is due on the remainder of his three-year contract.


Rangers Place Gallo On IL

The Texas Rangers have placed outfielder Joey Gallo on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique muscle. Gallo suffered the injury in Saturday's 6-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
