Bill Buckner Dies After Battling Dementia

Former Boston Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner has died at the age of 69 after battling Lewy Body Dementia.

While he had a notable career, Buckner will forever be known for extending the Red Sox curse in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series when he let a slow roller go through his legs and allowed the New York Mets to win the game and go on to take the series.


Red Sox' Pedroia Will Take Indefinite Leave

Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia will take an indefinite leave from the team as he struggles to recover from knee injuries. The 35-year-old Pedroia has officially been placed on the 60-day injured list, although it’s said the injury could be career-ending.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired right-hander Yefry Ramirez from the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
