Oakland Athletics right-hander Mike Fiers pitched his second career no-hitter last night against the Cincinnati Reds in a 2-0 win. Fiers also threw a no-hitter in 2015 for the Houston Astros against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was the 13th no-hitter in A's history and the first time Oakland has had no-hitters in back-to-back seasons, following Sean Manaea's no-no last season against the Boston Red Sox.
Ohtani Returns to Lineup
Shohei Ohtani returned to the Los Angeles Angels lineup last night for the first time this season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in October. Ohtani went 0 for 4 with a walk in his return, although the Angels beat the Detroit Tigers 5-2.
