Lincoln Land Community College will be gaining help for their pitching staff in 2019.

St. Anthony High School senior Colin Koester has signed a letter of intent to pitch for the Loggers the next two years. The signing ceremony took place Wednesday afternoon.

Koester, the son of Carl and Deanna Koester, said he's loved baseball since he was little and said playing college baseball was "always the end goal". He said his focus on Lincoln Land will be pitching. He plays infield for the Bulldogs when not on the mound.

Koester said he liked the Lincoln Land campus and baseball facility and the Springfield area and that combination led him to sign with the Loggers. Also a plus is the connection between Lincoln Land Coach Ron Riggle and Bulldogs Coach Tony Kreke, who played for Riggle at the school. Several former high school athletes from this area are playing or have played for Lincoln Land in various sports.

Koester said he will be studying in a Business-related field.
