Bulldogs, Maroons, Cougars, Eagles Get Baseball Wins

Effingham St. Anthony High School played host to Odin/Patoka and captured a 16-8 baseball victory Monday.

The Bulldogs edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then had two-run innings in the second and third, one in the fourth and nine in the fifth.

Blake Niebrugge had a single, double, home run and three RBI for the Bulldogs while Dylan Guy had three singles, a double and an RBI. Kaden Fearday contributed two singles, a double and two RBI. Davis Tingley, Colin Koester, Jack Hoene and Hunter Stephens had two singles each. Tingley and Stephens had three RBI each while Koester and Hoene had an RBI each.

Odin/Patoka was led by J. Gordie with a single, triple and an RBI, K. Roberts three singles and M. Pluntiz with two singles and an RBI.

At Ramsey

Dieterich pounded out 10 hits and downed  Ramsey, 10-1 in action Monday.

The Movin' Maroons were led by C. Hartke with a single, double and an RBI, D. Will with two singles and two RBI and M. Hunzinger with a double and two RBI.

Will was the winning pittcher going six innings allowing one hit, no runs, five walks and striking out four.

At Kinmundy

South Central edged Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 2-1 in action Monday.

The Cougars edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead. WSS tied in the fifth. South Central won it with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Both teams had four hits. C. Dodson led the Cougars with a double. Lotz had a single and drove in both runs.

WSS was led by R. Walden with two singles.

St. Elmo/Brownstown tallied a 4-0 win over Webber Township (Bluford) Monday.

BSE scored single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Francisco Viramotnes had two singles for the winners.

BSE improves to 7-7 on the season. Jace McWhorter picked up the pitching win on a five-hitter with one walk and five strikeouts.
