Wooden Shoes Pick Up Three Baseball Wins

Teutopolis High School picked up three victories during weekend action in baseball.
In a Friday game, the Wooden Shoes downed Effingham St. Anthony, 8-2. The two teams were tied at 1-1 until the fifth when T-town moved ahead 2-1. The Shoes then scored six runs in the sixth.
Luke Ungrund led the way offensively with two singles and two RBI.
Bryson Wall led the Bulldogs with a triple.
In Saturday's games, T-town defeated North Clay (Louisville) 4-0. T-town scored single runs in the first four innings. Ungrund threw a two-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts.
Tyler Runde had two singles while Mitch Hardiek led the way with three singles and an RBI. Ungrund added two singles.
North Clay was led by T. Jones with two singles.
T-town then downed St. Anthony 8-3 behind a 10-hit attack.
Runde had two doubles and three RBI while Ungrund had two singles, Brock Deters two singles and two RBI and Clint Weber a double.
Dawson Smith went 5.2 innings, allowing six hits, three urns, four walks and striking out nine for the pitching win. T-town improves to 17-2 on the season.
Wall had the lone extra base hit for the Bulldogs with a double.
The Bulldogs claimed a 14-4 win over North Clay. The Bulldogs took a 1-0 first inning lead, had a three-run third and fourth and a seventh-run seventh.
Aaron Webb had two singles, a double and three RBI for the Bulldogs while Logan Antrim and Eli Moore had two singles each.

North Clay (Louisville) edged Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 3-2 in action Friday.
WSS held a 2-1 lead going into the sixth then North Clay tied then took the win in the seventh.
Jones led the Cardinals with three singles and an RBI while Fleener added two singles.
Greuel led the Hatchets with a double.

South Central stepped out to a 3-1 opening inning lead and never looked back in a 12-1 win over Neoga Friday.
The Cougars had 12 hits led by Brandt and VanScyoc with a single and double each. VanScyoc had two RBI and Brandt one. Patten and Lotz had two singles and an RBI each and Lybarger a single and three RBI.
