Effingham St. Anthony claimed a junior high baseball win over Mount Zion Monday, 9-1.

The Bullpups stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back. E. Levitt went all seven innings on the mound, allowing four hits, one run, two walks and striking out five.

C. Wines had a double and an RBI while Levitt added two singles and an RBI.

At Sacred Heart

Avery Jahraus threw a no-hitter to lead Altamont Lutheran Inter-Parish to a 15-0 win over Effingham Sacred Heart Monday.

The Rockets edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning then had an eight-run third and a six-run sixth to end the game.

Logan Cornett had three singles and an RBI for the winners while Nathan Stuemke added two singles and an RBI.

Altamont played host to North Clay (Lutheran) and sent the visitors home with an 8-1 defeat Monday.

Altamont led 1-0 after one inning and 4-0 after three. Hammer had a single, double, triple and two RBI while Rippetoe had a single, double and two RBI. Phillips added a double.

Fleener had the lone hit for North Clay with a single.

Altamont improves to 4-3 on the season.

Dieterich stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and went on for an 11-4 victory Monday.

Dieterich's Niebrugge picked up the pitching win, going 3.3 innings.

Dieterich had 11 hits in the game led by Niebrugge with three singles, Bloemer and Dill with a single and double each and Britton with two singles.

CHBC was led by Carson Evans, Gage Lorton and Jaxon Manley with a single each.

Newton St. Thomas picked up a win over Oblong, 19-3 in action Monday.

Dylan Gier was the winning pitcher.

Leading hitters for the winners were Evan Baltzell with two doubles and six RBI and Drew Earnest with two singles and two RBI.

The Saints are now 3-2 on the season. The team will face St. Anthony Wednesday.

 

At St. Elmo

Brownstown/St. Elmo claimed a 5-4 win over Neoga Monday.

Neoga was led by Aiden Helmuth with two hits and a walk and Quentin Richards with two hits and two walks. Byrar Hennesay had one hit.

Neoga is back in action today at Sigel St. Michael.

 

At Teutopolis

Stewardson-Strasburg claimed a B game victory over Teutopolis Monday, 14-2.

Stew-Stras broke a 1-1 first inning tie with a two-run third, then added on seven in the fifth and four in the seventh.

Stew-Stras had 12 hits led by W. Wittenberg with three singles, a double and an RBI while Channey had three singles and an RBI, Rincker with a double and three RBI, Davis with a double and Wetherell with a single, double and an RBI.

T-town was led by Tyler Pruemer with a single and double.
