Teutopolis High School took the early lead but Effingham St. Anthony came back in the middle innings and claimed a 6-4 high school baseball victory Wednesday.
The Shoes tallied a run in the first inning and led 2-0 after two. St. Anthony tallied a single run in the third before scoring three in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
Both teams had five hits. St. Anthony was led by Kaden Fearday with a double and an RBI.
T-town was led by Mitch Hemmen with two singles and T. Runde with a double.
Gavin Braunecker picked up the pitching win for the Bulldogs going five innings, allowing two hits, two runs, three walks and striking out six.
The game was the season opener for the Shoes while St. Anthony improved to 2-0.
