Mookie Betts Hits For First Cycle of Season

Mookie Betts, of the Boston Red Sox, hit for the first cycle of the 2018 season Thursday night. It was the 22nd cycle in Red Sox franchise history, although it came in an 8-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Yankees' Stanton Hits Hardest Home Run

The New York Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton hit the hardest home run ever measured by Major League Baseball’s Statcast system in last night’s 7-3 win over the Texas Rangers. Stanton’s homer was measured at 121.7 mph. (See here)

Athletics Acquire Rodney

The Oakland Athletics have acquired closer Fernando Rodney from the Minnesota Twins. In return, the Twins received minor league right-hander Dakota Chalmers.
