CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs edged Cincinnati, 6-5 in 10 innings Sunday.
With the bases loaded in the 10th, rookie third baseman David Bote drew a walk and that was the game. Earlier in the inning, Addison Russell reached on Joey Votto's error with two on base. Votto fielded the grounder but bobbled the ball when he stepped on first.
The Cubs led 5-4 to start the ninth, but Cincinnati's Adam Duvall tied it with a leadoff homer. Javier Baez hit a two-run single in the seventh to put the Cubs ahead.
Jon Lester left in the seventh with the Reds ahead 4-3 so the game was a no-decision for him.
Giants 13, Cardinals 8
SAN FRANCISCO --Greg Holland struggled in Sunday's 13-8 loss to the Giants at AT&T Park for a split.
Holland came in not allowing an earned run in eight appearances but couldn't contain the Giants.
But he wasn't the only one on the mound who was struggling. Jack Flaherty allowed three runs, two earned over 2 1/3 innings. The Cardinals led until John Brebbia allowed a three-run homer to Pablo Sandoval in the fifth. The Giants got two more against Sam Tuivailala in the eighth.
Giants Deal With Rangers
The San Francisco Giants sent outfielder Austin Jackson, reliever Cory Gearrin and pitching prospect Jason Bahr to the Texas Rangers for a player to be named later or cash.
Ddogers' Puig injured
Yasiel Puig left Sunday’s Los Angeles Dodgers game against the Angels with a right oblique strain. It’s not yet known whether the injury will require a stint on the DL.
