Prep, Junior Babe Ruth Leagues -- July 5

Effingham Asphalt edged the Teutopolis Jaguars, 11-10 in Prep League action at Evergreen Hollow Park Thursday.

The Jaguars took a 3-0 first inning lead and pushed that to 4-0 in the top of the third. Asphalt came back with a seven-run bottom of the third but the Jaguars tied the score at 9-9 in the fifth. The Jaguars moved ahead 10-9 in the top of the sixth but Asphalt tallied two in the bottom of the frame for the win.

John Westendorf had a single, double, triple and three RBI for the winners while Kienon Eirhart had a single, two doubles and two RBI. Zeke Rippetoe added two singles, a double and two RBI and Andrew Donaldson had a double.

Leading the Jaguars were Tyler Pruemer with a double, triple and two RBI, Brett Kreke with a single and double and Caleb Bloemer and Ryan  Koester with a double and an RBI each.

In the second contest, Taylor Law took a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked back in a 19-4 win over Effingham Veterinary Clinic.

Andrew Splechter pitched a three-hitter.

Taylor Law had 10 hits led by Jude Beals and Wyatt Phillips with three singles each. Beals drove in three runs while Phillips had one RBI.

Logan Heil led Effingham Veterinary Clinic with a triple while Quest Hull and Evan Waymoth had a double each.

Junior Babe Ruth League

Washington Savings Bank tallied a 10-6 win over Wohltman Construction in Junior Babe Ruth League action at Paul Smith Field Thursday.

Wohltman Construction took a 1-0 first inning lead and led 6-4 after two. Washington Savings then had a six-run third.

Max Nelson threw a one-hitter. Joe Matteson had a double and two RBI for the winners.

Colton Fearday had the lone hit, a single, and two RBI for Wohltman.

In the second contest, Tri-Power Towing was a 6-1 winner over Drs. Sehy & Jones Optometrists.

Tri-Power broke a 1-1 first inning tie with a four-run second and tacked on a final run in the fourth.

Wyatt Chandler had a single, double and an RBI for the winners. Kalen Reardon threw a two-hitter.

Joe Matteson and Tyler Budde had a single each for Sehy & Jones. Budde added an RBI.
