Effingham Post 120 Seniors Go 2-2 at Tourney

Effingham Post 120 Senior Legion 19U fell to Waverly, Nebraska, 4-3 in action at the Battle of Omaha Baseball Tourney Friday.
The game was tied at 3-3 with Waverly battling in the bottom of the sixth. Jay Adams singled on the first pitch of the at-bat scoring one run.
Brayton Poland suffered the pitching loss for Effingham Post 120. He went one inning, allowing one run on one hit and striking out one.
Brett Koester started the game for Effingham, going five innings allowing three runs on nine hits and striking out three.
Koester, Bryan Lohman, Poland, Cody Grove and Dylan Guy each collected one hit.
In the other game Friday, Effingham pounded Bryan, Nebraska, 10-5.
In Saturday action, Effingham edged Hays, Kansas 3-2 in eight innings.
The squad then exited the tournament with a 5-3 loss to Wichita, Kansas.
