Four Effingham Baseball Players Named Apollo All-Conference

Four Effingham High School baseball players were named to the Apollo All-Conference teams.

Mount Zion won the Apollo Conference regular season title with an 11-1 record followed by Effingham 9-3, Mattoon 8-4, Mahomet-Seymour 6-6, Charleston 5-7, Lincoln 2-10 and Taylorville 1-11.

Named an All-Conference Pitcher was Effingham's Zach Lee, a junior. Also named were Jacob Spitz, junior, from Mattoon and Jonah Smith, senior, from Mount Zion.

Named to the First Team was Effingham's Mason Hull, a senior. Along with Hull were Wes Harrell (senior) and Tyler Wood (senior) of Charleston, Brooks Coetzee (senior) of Mahomet-Seymour, Garrette Branson (senior) and Jackson Nichols (junior) of Mattoon and Mount Zion's Trevor Durand, DJ Johns and Bradley Reynolds, all seniors.

Named to the Second Team were Kendall Ballman, a junior, and Ryan Sandifer, a senior from Effingham. Also named were Luke Buescher, a senior, (Charleston), Nick Dillon, a senior, (Charleston), Austin Biehl, a senior, (Mahomet-Seymour), Kyle Mumm, a senior, (Mahomet-Seymour), Daniel Chausse, a junior, (Mount Zion) and Ethan Morgan, a senior, (Taylorville).
