Hearts Win Baseball Doubleheader

Effingham High School captured a baseball doubleheader over Centralia in action Saturday.
The Hearts won the opener 7-5. EHS trailed 5-3 after four innings then tallied a run in the fifth and three in the sixth to pull out the victory.
EHS had eight hits in the contest but had four errors. Cooper Jackson had a single, triple and an RBI while Mason Hull added a triple and an RBI and Ryan Sandifer and Parker Seachrist had a double and an RBI each. Brett Koester had two singles.
In the second contest, Effingham tallied a 13-3 win in six innings via the 10-run rule.
The Hearts scored three in the first and never looked back in this one.
Brayton Poland had a ingle, double and four RBI while Hull and Jackson added a double each. Sandifer and Zack Lee had a single and three RBI each.
