WINDSOR -- Effingham St. Anthony High School moved into the championship game of the Class 1A Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Baseball Regional with a victory Wednesday.
The Bulldogs handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 10-0 loss in six innings. St. Anthony edged out to a 1-0 lead in the third inning then had a four-run fifth and a five-run sixth.
Colin Koester picked up the pitching win, going five innings,allowing one hit, no walks and striking out seven. Gavin Braunecker came on in the last inning, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out two.
St. Anthony had 10 hits led by Dylan Guy with three singles and two RBI, Blake Niebrugge with three singles and three RBI and Joseph Kabbes with a double and an RBI.
The lone hit for CHBC came from Eddie Clearwater with a single.
St. Anthony advances to the championship game Saturday and will face either Altamont or Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 11 a.m. Those two teams play today at 4:15.

Class 2A Teutopolis Regional
Teutopolis scored the only runs it needed in the second inning and blanked Flora, 3-0 in its own Class 2A Regional Wednesday.
The Wooden Shoes had five hits, all extra base hits, from Clint Weber with a two-run homer, Drew Thoele with a triple and an RBI and Jackson Goeckner, Cody Jansen and Eric Kremer with a double each.
Jansen threw a one-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts.
T-town improved to 25-6 on the season while Flora ends at 9-21. Jansen improved his pitching record to 6-0-1.
In the second game, Robinson trounced Carlyle 19-3.
T-town will now face Robinson at 10 a.m. Saturday for the regional championship.

Class 1A South Central Regional
South Central stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back in a 10-0 win over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Wednesday.
The Cougars had 12 hits led by Ryan Matheny with three singles, a double and two RBI, Hunter Brandt four singles and two RBI and Trent Geiler with a single and double. Aaron Patten had a single and drove in three runs.
Matheny was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing two hits, no walks and striking out seven. Logan Lotz pitched the final three innings allowing one walk and striking out six.
In the opener, Odin/Patoka downed Brownstown/St. Elmo 8-1. BSE scored its lone run in the first inning and held that lead until the third when Odin/Patoka tallied three runs.
Bryton Pruett had a single and double as BSE finished the season with an 8-11 record.
South Central will now meet Odin/Patoka at 11 a.m. Saturday for the regional championship.

Class 1A Dieterich Regional
Neoga handed Oblong an 11-4 loss in the Dieterich Regional Wednesday.
The Indians edged out to a 2-1 opening inning lead. Oblong tied in the second but Neoga moved to 3-2 in the third then had three-run innings in the fourth and sixth and two in the fifth.
Drew Ramert pitched five innings, allowing no hits, seven walks and striking out seven.
Offensively, Layne Andrews had three singles and two RBI while Caleb Hill had three singles and four RBI.
Neoga now sports a 17-7 record and advances to the championship game Saturday at noon against either Dieterich or Cumberland. Those two teams play today.

Class 1A Woodlawn Regional
North Clay (Louisville) blanked Webber Township (Bluford), 8-0 in the Woodlawn Regional Wednesday.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead then added on a single run in the third and sixth and three more in the fifth.
North Clay had 13 hits led by Bloemer with two singles and a double while R. Clifton had a single, double and three RBI. Repking also had a single, double and three RBI.
North Clay moves into the championship game Saturday at 11 a.m. and will face either Cisne or Woodlawn. Those two teams play today.

Class 2A Vandalia Regional
Newton scored its two runs in the fourth inning and held off Breese Central, 2-1 in the Vandalia Regional Wednesday.
Breese Central scored its lone run in the sixth.
Cohorst picked up the pitching win going 6.1 innings, allowing four hits, no walks and striking out six.
Bierman hit a two-run homer while Cohorst had a double and Pitcher a double for the Eagles.
In the opener Wednesday, Greenville blanked Breese Mater Dei 7-0.
Newton will now face Greenville at noon Saturday for the regional championship.
