NEOGA -- Joseph Kabbes had a big night for Effingham St. Anthony.

Kabbes drove in five runs on three hits as the Buldogs defeated Neoga 8-3 Thursday in baseball play. Kabbes hit a home run in the third, a single in the fourth and a home run in the sixth.

St. Anthony edged out to a 2-1 first inning lead then tacked on single runs in the second and third and two in the fourth and sixth.

Adam Levitt picked up the pitching win after entering the game in the first inning in relief. He went seven innings allowed three hits, two runs, one walk and struck out 12.

Davis Tingley had two singles and an RBI while Blake Niebrugge hit a home run and had two RBI.

Neoga had three hits, by Caleb Hill with a solo home run and Clayton Butler and Lacy with a single each.

At Mattoon

Teutopolis improved to 13-4 on the season with an 8-4 victory over Mattoon Thursday.

The Shoes held a 5-1 lead until the sixth then tacked on another run. The Green Wave scored three in the bottom of the frame but that was it.

T-town was outhit by Mattoon 9-7. Lee Hardiek led the way in hitting with two singles and three RBI while Cody Jansen had a double.

Eric Kremer moved his pitching record to 4-0, going three innings, allowing one run on five hits, no walks and two strikeouts.

Mattoon dropped to 10-4.

Dieterich's Dalton Will threw a no-hitter as the Movin' Maroons blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 11-0 in five innings Thursday.

Dalton went the distance allowing no hits, no walks and striking out 10.

Derek Kuhl led the way offensively for Dieterich with three singles and three RBI. Matthew Hunzinger and Cole Niebrugge added two singles each. Hunzinger had two RBI and Niebrugge one. Lucas Hall chipped in with two RBI.

North Clay (Louisville) edged Altamont 9-8 in action Thursday.

The Indians ran off to a 5-0 first inning lead and led 7-3 after five. But the Cardinals came roaring back with a six-run sixth then held off the Indians, who scored a final run in the top of the seventh.

Bloemer hit a single, home run and had one RBI for the winners. Clifton added a single, double and two RBI. Fleener drove in two runs and had a single.

Altamont was led by Grant Schmidt with two doubles and four RBI. Noah Teasley had two singles while Wyatt Vaughn added a double and an RBI.

Cumberland handed Villa Grove-Heritage a 10-4 loss in Little Okaw Valley-Southeast Division play Thursday.

The Pirates took the early lead and never looked back. Reid Mathenia had a single, double and two RBI while Bryson Cutts had two singles and a double, Michael Flier a single, double and an RBI and Brennyn Cutts a single, double and two RBI.

Cumberland is now 10-7 on the season.

Newton picked up a 5-4 victory over Robinson Thursday.

Robinson held a 1-0 first inning lead then pushed across two runs in the fifth and a run in the top of the sixth to lead 4-0. Newton came back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth and scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Wagy and R. Galloway hit a home run each for the Eagles. Wagy had one RBI and Galloway three.
