DIETERICH -- Teutopolis and Dieterich were opening round winners in the Junior Legion District Baseball Tournament Thursday.

Dieterich opened with a 4-1 victory over Newton. Dieterich will now face Altamont at 6 p.m. today.

The second contest went to Teutopolis over Effingham 4-3. T-town advances to an 11 a.m. game Saturday in winner bracket action while Effingham faces Newton at 7:30 today in loser bracket play.
