Effingham Hosts District 23 Senior Legion Tourney

Effingham Post 120 will play host to the District Senior Legion Tournament this weekend.

Newton Post 20 drew the top seed and won't play until Saturday.

Tonight's games feature Mount Vernon Post 141 against Olney Post 30 at 5 p.m. and Effingham Post 120 taking on Robinson Post 69 at 7:30.

The tournament continues with four games Saturday and will finish out play with two and possibly three games Sunday. The championship is scheduled for 6 p.m. with a second championship game, if necessary, to follow at 8.

Game 4 -- Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2, 1:30 p.m.

Game 5 -- Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3, 5 p.m.

Game 6 -- Winner Game 4 vs. Loser Game 3, 7:30 p.m.

Sunday's Games

Game 7 -- Loser Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6, 3 p.m.

Game 8 -- Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 7, 6 p.m.
