Shelby County Picks Up Junior Legion Win

Shelby County Junior Legion Posts 289-611-725 handed Piatt County a 13-7 loss in action Wednesday evening.

Shelby County stepped out to a 6-0 opening inning lead then tacked on three in the third. Piatt came back with a run in the fourth and pulled within 7-4 in the top of the fifth. But Shelby County pushed across three more runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Aaron Kirby had a single, double and two RBI for the winners. Colton Reed had three singles and five RBI while Samuel Hagerman had two singles and an RBI and Trenton Moore two singles and an RBI.

Beau Bennett was the winning pitcher going three innings, allowing one hit, three walks and striking out four.
