Effingham Senior Legion Beats Robinson

ROBINSON -- The Effingham Post 120 Senior Legion team travelled to Robinson Monday night and defeated Robinson Legion Post 69 by the score of 7-2.

Robinson held a 1-0 lead over Effingham until Post 120 erupted for six runs in the sixth inning to secure the victory.  Brett Koester earned the complete game win, holding Robinson to two runs on just four hits over seven innings.

Effingham scored its seven runs on three hits, including a solo home run by Cody Grove.  B. Koester had a double, an RBI and scored a run while Austin Kline contributed  with a single.  Hudson Graham also had an RBI for Post 120.

Post 120 improved its conference record to 4-3 on the season and will travel to Teutopolis today for a 6 p.m. rematch against Teutopolis Post 924.  The two rivals just faced each other Sunday in the Mattoon Firecracker Tournament which saw Effingham defeat Teutopolis 2-1 in a 14 inning contest.
