Effingham Post 120 Wins, Shelby Co. Claims DH

Effingham Post 120 claimed a 4-0 victory over Fairfield Post 176 in legion action Tuesday.

Effingham Post 120 stepped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning and tallied two more in the third. Kayden Fearday started the contest, going three innings, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out four to pick up the win.

Post 120 had three hits in the game led by Blake Niebrugge. Niebrugge hit a home run in the second and also had a double. Contributing a single was Brayton Poland.

Effingham is now 5-1 on the season.

Shelby County Junior Legion Posts 289-611-725 claimed victories over Toledo Post 764 in action Tuesday.

Shelby County won the opener 4-2. The score was tied at 1-1 after three innings before Shelby County brought home three runs in the fourth.

Shelby County had three hits, all singles by Dalton McGill, Grant Mose and Trenton Moore. Kentrell Beck picked up the pitching win going 4.67 innings, allowing two hits, one run, two walks and striking out eight.

In the second contest, the game was called for darkness/rain in the fourth inning. Shelby County tallied a 10-4 score over Toledo despite not having a hit in the game.

Shelby County struck early with a 9-3 opening inning lead then tacked on a final run in the third.

Shelby County's Sam Hagerman was the winning pitcher, going just one inning, allowing two hits three runs, one walk and striking out two.
