St. Anthony High School senior Brandon Puckett has decided to play college baseball at Lake Land College.
Puckett, the son of Brent and Jodi Puckett, is an outfielder for the Bulldogs, but his chief role is as a starting pitcher for St. Anthony. Puckett said Lake Land coaches have indicated they want him to concentrate on pitching when he hits campus this fall.
Puckett says the thing he likes best about baseball is the "mental aspect" as well as the comraderie of a team sport. He said the coaching staff at Lake Land like his mechanics and can build from there.
Puckett said he plans to pursue studies in business, but will focus on getting requirements out of the way at Lake Land to be ready to move on to a four-year school.
