Effingham St. Anthony High School continues to pound the ball while Jacob Guy threw a no-hitter in a 30-0 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.

The Bulldogs edged out to a 3-0 first inning lead then had a 21-run second inning. The game ended after the third inning.

St. Anthony had 24 hits in the contest led by Greg Utz with four singles and five RBI, Adam Levitt with three singles and three  RBI, Brandon Puckett with a single, double and two RBI, Guy with two singles and three RBI, Blake Niebrugge with two singles and two RBI, Ethan Greene with two singles and two RBI, Drew Gibson with two singles and three RBI and Colin Koester with two singles and an RBI.

Guy went three innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out four.

North Clay (Louisville) had an eight-run first inning and never looked back in a 9-2 win over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Tuesday.

The Cardinals had 11 hits in the contest with 11 different players garnering a single each. Burkett drove in three runs while Repking had two RBI and Bloemer one.

Five pitchers threw in the contest with Burkett getting the win, going two innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.

Newton came calling and picked up a 4-2 win over host Dieterich Tuesday.

The Eagles scored two runs in the first and two in the second. Grunloh had a single and double while Geier had two singles and an RBI and Frohning a double.

Dieterich was led by Goedde with two singles and C. Thoele with a double.

Brownstown/St. Elmo took a 1-0 lead over Cisne in the third inning then added on another run in the fifth and three in the sixth for a 5-0 win.

Lewis Brown picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with five walks and 12 strikeouts.

Nate Philpot went three for four at the plate with three singles and an RBI. Dalton Denton had the lone extra base hit of the contest, a double and drove in a run.

BSE is now 3-8 on the season.

Tetuopolis improved to 9-4 on the season by blanking Robinson 10-0 in five innings Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes led 3-0 until the bottom of the fifth when they scored seven to end the game.

Jansen had two singles, a double and three RBI for the Shoes while Kremer had two singles and two RBI, Bueker three singles and an RBI, Bueker a double and an RBI and Kremer two singles and two RBI.

Kremer was the winning pitcher, going four innings, allowing one hit, four walks and striking out five.

Okaw Valley played host to Neoga and handed the Indians a 19-9 loss in five innings Tuesday.

Okaw Valley had 13 hits and was aided by five Neoga errors.

The Indians were led by Andrews with a single, double and two RBI, Hill with two singles and an RBI, Fritcher two singles and Butler a single and double. The Indians drop to 3-6 on the season.

Greenville handed the Cougars of South Central a 6-1 loss Tuesday.

The score was tied at 1-1 after two innings but Greenville came through with three runs in the third and two more in the sixth.

Effingham's junior varsity squad improved to 6-2 on the season with a 13-9 win over Paris.

The Hearts stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead but Paris came back in the top of the second with six runs. The Hearts tallied four in the bottom of the frame and added on five more in the third and one in the fourth.

Ballman had two singles, a double and two RBI while Jackson and Poland had two singles, a double and four RBI each. Gordon added two singles. The Hearts improve to 6-2.
