The time is finally here to kick off the Relay For Life Fifth Annual American Cancer Society Day at the Ballpark with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Relay for Life is going to “Strike Out Cancer” Sunday, August 13 at 1:15 p.m. at Busch Stadium against the Atlanta Braves. Tickets to the game will be $20 for 300 level seats and $35 for 100/200 level sections. Each ticket includes a hot dog and a soft drink and pre-game festivities such as field access, dugout tours and autograph sessions.

This is an opportunity open to committee members, teams, and anyone else as a fundraiser for their teams and events. A portion of each ticket will be credited directly to your event/team and there are multiple incentives to participate in this program, such as:

Everyone with a ticket will receive entrance into the Pre Game Activities including player autographs, dugout tour, etc.

An exclusive autograph session for the first 125 volunteers selling 25 or more tickets

Top two volunteers who sell the most tickets will have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch

Those who sell more than 25 tickets, will be entered into a drawing for autographed St. Louis Cardinal memorabilia (one entry per 25 tickets sold)

Those who sell more than 50 tickets, will be entered into a drawing for the chance to meet a current St. Louis Cardinals player in the clubhouse (one entry per 50 tickets sold)

Those who sell more than 50 tickets, will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win a St. Louis Cardinals Experience Package that includes four box seats and a pregame field visit for another game (one entry per 50 tickets sold)

This is an easy fundraiser and so much fun. It is awesome to see groups of Relayers and ACS volunteers all coming together at the ballpark to celebrate and enjoy a great day of Cardinals baseball.

The designated ticket website, www.stlcardinalsrfl.org is officially live as of Monday, February 20. Tickets are first come, first serve. The $35 tickets will be gone within the first 30-45 minutes that the website is live. Last year the website went live around 9 a.m. Updates will be posted on the Relay for Life Facebook page to let followers know when it is live and accepting orders.  Be sure you take the time to submit your order through the website – these are the only reservations that will be accepted.

This year, there will be a tab for the Illinois game and a tab for the Missouri game. Be sure that you click on the Illinois game tab as this is the only game Relay For Life of Effingham County will get credit for selling tickets.

The reservation form will ask how many $20 and $35 tickets you want. There are 3,000 of the $35 tickets and 3,000 of the $20 tickets to sell.
Kids three and under get in free. Handicapped accessible seats are $20 but they cannot be guaranteed where they will be located in the stadium.
Teams will get $6 for every $20 ticket sold and $10 for every $35 ticket sold.

Please also note the tickets will have to be paid for before they can be picked up at the local office. The tickets cannot be released before payment is received.

You are able to pay for tickets online as you reserve them. Utilize this option when possible (you are also able to pay online and reserve additional tickets in the same transaction if you choose to do so)

Once you reserve tickets, you will receive a confirmation email. Do not submit an order right away, the confirmation email might take a little bit to arrive. Not wanted are duplicate orders coming through as that happened many times last year.

Tickets will not be available for pickup until the end of March, so be patient as the office waits to receive them from the Cardinals and manually fill the orders.

Day of event flyer and details should be coming shortly. If there are any questions, contact the Relay For Life of Effingham County office.
