Cardinal Caravan Coming to Effingham, Mattoon

The 2017 Cardinals Caravan, presented by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance, is coming to Effingham at the Thelma Keller Convention Center Monday, January 16.
Join in a chance to talk baseball and meet current players, alumni and broadcasters. There will be autographs for kids 15 and under, Cardinals prize drawings and more.
The Cardinals will be implementing the autograph ticket system. The first 400 children (15 and under) through the door on the day of the event will receive a free autograph ticket which guarantees one autograph from each current and former player. Due to high demand, autographs will only be available for children 15 and under.
Children 15 and under tickets are free and adult tickets are $1 (limited tickets available). Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the caravan public session starts at 5 p.m. For more information, phone the Thelma Keller Convention Center at 217-347-5115.
Emcee and players listed on the St. Louis Cardinals website include Dan McLaughlin (emcee) and players Alex Reyes, Miguel Socolovich, Rowan Wick and Ryan Sherriff. Alumni include Brad Thompson, Al Hrabosky and Cliff Politte.
The caravan will also be at the Lake Land College Field House Sunday, January 15 in Mattoon at noon, at the Decatur Hotel and Conference Center at 6 p.m. and Monday, January 16 at noon at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.
The Mattoon doors will open at 11 a.m. with the event scheduled for noon. Tickets may be purchaed in the Laker Athletics office in the Field House or at Washington Savings Bank. The Laker Athletics office will be open Friday, Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday through Friday, Jan. 9-14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For questions, phone 217-234-5333.
Cost of the ticket is $10 and includes a hot dog, chips and drink. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
It will also be at SIU Arena in Carbondale Sunday, January 15 at 12:30 p.m. with Emcee Chris Hrabe and players Tyler Lyons, Jose Martinez, John Gant and Patrick Wisdom and alumni Ray King and Scott Cooper.
