Bulldogs Beat North Clay, Area Baseball Roundup

Effingham St. Anthony High School handed North Clay (Louisville) a 9-1 baseball loss Tuesday.
The Bulldogs tallied three runs in the third then tacked on four in the fourth and two more in the sixth. The Cardinals' lone run came in the sixth.
St. Anthony had three extra base hits from Brandon Puckett with a double and an RBI, Drew Gibson with two singles, a double and two RBI and Bryson Wall with a single and double. Greg Utz and Austin Kline had three singles and an RBI each. Joe Kabbes had two singles and an RBI.
North Clay was led by Brandon Repking with two singles and Jones with two singles.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg scored early and went on to beat Neoga 6-3.
The Hatchets tallied two in the first, one in the second and one in the third and finished out with two in the seventh.
Derek Moshenrose picked up the nine-hit pitching win, allowing no walks and striking out five.
WSS had seven hits led by Chase Thies with a double and Josh Overbeck with two singles and two RBI.
Neoga had four doubles led by Justin Yurs with a single, double and two RBI. Layne Andrews, Drew Ramert and Caleb Hill had a double each. Evan Fritcher added two singles and an RBI.

South Central's Lotz threw a three-hitter, allowing one walk and striking out one as the Cougars blanked Altamont 4-0.
Matheny came on to relieve in the sixth going 1.2 innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out two.
The Cougars were led by Geiler with a double and an RBI, Lotz with two singles and Harpster with two singles.
Altamont's singles came from Denver Duckwitz, Jacob Robbins and Caden Miller.

Coach Justin Fleener's crew banged out 16 hits in the contest. Lane Belleville had a single, double and three RBI while Carson Hartke had a single and double, Bueker a single, double and an RBI, Bueker a single, double and an RBI, Jason Kenter two singles and two RBI, Lee Hardiek a double and an RBI and Dylan Bloemer a double and an RBI.
Connor Mette threw a two-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts.
T-town is now 16-1 on the season.

Brownstown/St. Elmo handed Ramsey a 12-3 loss in Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament play Tuesday evening.
BSE edged out to a 3-2 opening inning lead then had a two-run second and broke the game open with a five-run fifth for a 12-3 win.
Nate Philpot had a double for the winners who improve to 5-6 on the season.
In the second game, Mulberry Grove won over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 11-1 in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Both teams had three hits. CHBC was led by Grove, Kirchhofer and Barnes with a single each.
