Bulldogs Pull Out 4-3 Win Over Altamont

The game finally came to a close after two days. Effingham St. Anthony High School pulled out a 4-3 victory over Altamont in 13 innings Wednesday. The game started Tuesday and went 10 innings before darkness halted play with the two teams tied at 3-3.

The Bulldogs finally tallied the winning run in the top of the 13th. Austin Kline singled to start the frame and was moved to second on a bunt and went to third on a fly ball. Brandon Puckett drew a walk. Drew Gibson then hit a double that scored Kline.

St. Anthony finished with 13 hits in the contest led by Gibson with two singles, two doubles and an RBI. Kline contributed three singles. Bryar Jansen had two singles. Joseph Kabbes and Adam Levitt had a double each.

Picking up the pitching win was Jansen who went 5.2 innings, allowing four hits, two walks and striking out three. Levitt had started the game Tuesday and went 3.1 innings, allowing two hits and three runs. Puckett went four innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.

Altamont had eight hits and was led by Kaleb Whitt with four singles. Kolby Pemberton added two singles and an RBI.

The Bulldogs moved their record to 10-3 on the season while Altamont dropped to 4-5.
