Effingham Junior High School blanked Casey-Westfield 10-0 in five innings of baseball action Monday.

The Mustangs' Loy picked up the pitching win, going one inning, allowing one hit, one walk and two strikeouts. Four other pitchers threw in the game.

Lee had two doubles while Cunningham had a single, double and an RBI, Fielitz a single and double and Wolfe two singles and an RBI.

EJHS is now 10-6 on the season.

At Effingham

North Clay (Louisville) came calling and ended the game in the fourth inning over Effingham Sacred Heart 21-3.

North Clay pounded out 19 hits led by Zimmerman with four singles and three RBI, Bible with two singles, a triple and three RBI, Ingram with three singles and two RBI, Ballard with a single and double and Fleener with two singles. Dorman picked up the pitching win, going three innings, allowing one hit, three walks and striking out seven.

Sacred Heart's lone hit was a single by Frauli.

Altamont stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and defeated Dieterich 5-0.

Abendroth threw a complete game, allowing one hit and striking out 15.

Abendroth also led offensively with two singles and an RBI while Baucum added a double.. Altamont improves to 8-9.

Dieterich's lone hit came from Ruholl with a single.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City bounced Newton St. Thomas 15-0 in three innings.

CHBC edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then pushed that to 3-0 in the second. CHBC then broke loose with a 12-run third. Robertson threw a no-hitter with two walks and four strikeouts.

Beck led offensively with two singles, a home run and four RBI. Weber added a double, Radloff a triple and Manley two singles.
