Effingham Junior High School dropped an A baseball game to Charleston 4-0 Thursday. Charleston scored a run in the fourth and three in the fifth.
Effingham had three hits, singles by Wolfe, Cunningham and Latch. The Mustangs drop to 9-5 on the season.
In the B game, Effingham edged Charleston 10-9. The Mustangs held a 6-5 lead after four innings. Charleston moved ahead 9-7 going into the sixth inning. Effingham came back with three runs in the bottom of the frame for the victory.
Pals had two singles for the winners who improve to 6-1.

At Sigel
Altamont claimed a 14-6 win over Sigel St. Michael Thursday.
St. Michael held a 2-0 lead after one inning and a 4-3 lead through four innings. Altamont tied in the top of the fifth but the Sharpshooters moved ahead 6-4 going into the sixth. Altamont then had a seven-run sixth and a three-run third.
Brewer hit a solo home run for the winners. Eirhart had three singles and an RBI while Baucum, Cripe and Frost had two singles each. Cripe and Frost had an RBI each. Altamont improves to 7-9.

North Clay (Louisville) blanked Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Dorman and Zimmerman combined to throw a no-hitter. Dorman went four innings, allowing four walks and stirking out six. Zimmerman threw the final inning allowing one walk.
North Clay led 2-0 after the first and 4-0 after the second. North Clay had 10 hits led by Ingram with a single, double and two RBI, Fleener two singles and an RBI and Clifton two singles.
