Effingham Junior High School downed Greenville 11-3 in baseball action Monday.
The Mustangs took a 2-0 first inning lead and finished with 12 hits in the contest. Wolfe had a single and triple while Blickem had a double for the Mustangs. Loy, Woomer and Cunningham had two singles each. Cunningham had two RBI and Woomer and Loy one each.
Effingham is now 8-5 on the season.
In the B contest, Greenville claimed an 8-6 victory over the Mustangs.
Greenville edged ahead 2-0 before the Mustangs tied the score in the second. Greenville then had a six-run third.
Effingham outhit Greenville 12-7. Fox had three singles while Ritz had a double, Perry two singles and Burgess two singles.
Effingham B is 4-1.

At Mount Zion
Effingham St. Anthony rallied in the seventh only to fall short in a 2-1 loss at Mount Zion.
Mount Zion stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead then had to hold off the Bullpups.
Both teams had three hits. St. Anthony was led by Reardon with a solo home run and Mendella and Niebrugge with a single each.
