Effingham's Chad Green's baseball season appears to be over.
The New York Yankees' righthander left his start against Baltimore Friday night in the second inning with what he said was "tightness" in his right elbow.
Chad's father, Howard Green, said Friday night in a text that Chad would have a test in Baltimore Saturday to examine Chad's elbow. In a phone call Saturday afternoon, Howard said it appears Chad has a sprained ulnar collateral ligament, but not a tear in the elbow. Howard indicated that, at this point, surgery is not indicated and Chad should be ready for Spring Training.
Green is 2-4 in his rookie season with a 4.73 ERA over 12 games, including eight starts.
