T-town Beats Altamont in DH, SEB, Dieterich Win

ALTAMONT -- Teutopolis High School swept a baseball doubleheader from Altamont Monday evening.
The Wooden Shoes won the opener 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule. The Shoes tallied seven runs in the first inning.
Collin Funneman threw a one-hitter with one walk and three strikeouts. Carson Hartke hit a single, double and drove in two runs for the winners. Brock Bueker had a double and an RBI while Jason Kenter had a double and an RBI.
Altamont's lone hit came from Kaleb Whitt with a single.
In the second contest, T-town edged out to a 5-4 opening inning lead then tacked on two in the second and two in the fifth for a 9-4 victory.
Ethyn Dust picked up the two-hit pitching win, with four walks and six strikeouts.
Drew Thoele had a triple and an RBI for the Shoes.

St. Elmo/Brownstown took a 2-0 first inning lead and went on for a 7-3 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
SEB banged out 10 hits in the contest and was aided by four CHBC errors. Maxey had a single, two doubles and an RBI while Philpot had two doubles, Brown a single and double and Denton and Pruett a double each.
CHBC had a double by Stoldt and two singles from Kirchhofer.
BSE improved to 1-1.

Dieterich took a 2-0 first inning lead and finished out with an 11-1 win in five innings over Ramsey Monday.
The Maroons had 12 hits led by Matt Goede with two doubles and an RBI, Charlie Thoele with a single, double and an RBI and Bryce McClain with two singles and an RBI.
McClain picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter with one walk and two strikeouts.
