Junior High Baseball -- August 24

Teutopolis Junior High School handed Effingham St. Anthony an 8-4 loss in baseball competition Wednesday.

The Bullpups took a 3-1 first inning lead. T-town tied in the top of the fifth but St. Anthony moved ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the frame. T-town then had a three-run sixth and a two-run seventh.

Ruholl led the winners with a double, home run and one RBI while Hardiek added a double.

St. Anthony was led by Walsh with a single, double and an RBI.

North Clay (Louisville) took a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to pound Neoga 18-0 in six innings of junior high baseball action Wednesday.

Zimmerman threw a one-hitter through three innings, allowing four walks and striking out three for the win. Burkett came on in the fourth to throw three innings, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out two.

Bible had 2 singles, a double, home run and three RBI for the winners. Clifton had four singles and three RBI. Dawkins added a double and two RBI.

Lacy had the lone hit for Neoga with a double.
