Effingham Junior High School improved to 3-1 on the season with a 12-6 win over Salem Franklin Park in boys baseball action Monday.

The Mustangs had a whopping 19 hits in the contest led by Raddatz with two singles, a double, home run and five RBI, Lee with three singles, a home run and three RBI, Woomer with two singles, a double and two RBI and Wolfe with a single, home run and one RBI. Cunningham added two singles and an RBI.

At Effingham

Three pitchers combined on a no-hitter for Effingham St. Anthony in a 13-0 win over Oblong.

Walsh went three innings allowing three walks and striking out five to pick up the victory. Moore threw an inning, allowing one walk and striking out two and Mendella pitched one inning allowing no walks and striking out two.

Mendella had two doubles and three RBI while Reardon had a single double and an RBI, Walsh a single, double and an RBI and  Niebrugge a single, triple and two RBI.

Dieterich blanked Neoga 8-0. Will picked up the pitching win on a no-hitter. No other information provided.

In a game Friday, Neoga defeated Teutopolis JV 11-8. Reece Johnson picked up the pitching win. Johnson had four hits while Will O'Dell, Treyvon Baughn, Luke Romack and Sean Schisler had two hits each. Nate Lacey, Chase Eaton and Alex Ramert had one hit each.

 

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) finished this game in the fourth inning for a 16-1 win over Odin.

North Clay had eight hits led by Bible with a double, home run and one RBI, Ingram with two singles and an RBI and H. Dawkins with a double.

Dorman pitched a one-hitter with four walks and four strikeouts.

Sigel St. Michael handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 22-8 loss in action Monday.

St. Michael edged out to a 3-1 first inning lead and had a 12-run sixth. The Sharpshooters had 10 hits in the contest led by Niebrugge with two singles and three RBI and Hotze, Walk and Gaddis with two singles each.

CHBC had five hits in the contest led by Manley with two singles.
