Chad Green to Start Today, Game on ESPN

Effingham High School graduate Chad Green will start Wednesday against the New York Mets, Wallace Matthews of ESPN.com reports. The game will be seen on ESPN with a 6 p.m. start time.

Green will inherit the rotation spot of Ivan Nova, who was traded to the Pirates on Monday. Green has thrown 8.1 scoreless innings in his last three appearances and will be making his first start since July 8 against Cleveland.

Green pitched the final 2.1 innings of July 24's win over the Giants, giving up three hits and no runs while striking out one to pick up his first career save.
