The Teutopolis American Legion Post #924 baseball team is out of the Division Tournament at West Frankfort after having to forfeit a Tuesday win.

Teutopolis entered the tournament with four players on vacation and one in the hospital, leaving eight available players.

The squad forfeited its first game. That left them in an 11am game Tuesday against Sparta.

Teutopolis won that game with nine players, 10-7, but it was later found out that the team used a player who was ineligible. Once that became known, the team had to forfeit the game. That was the squad's second loss, meaning they are eliminated from further tournament play.

In other games, New Baden beat Orient 8-1, Herrin won over Highland 8-7 and Metropolis edged Harrisburg 4-3. Today's action features New Baden against Highland at 2 p.m., Sparta taking on Harrisburg at 4:45 and Herrin meeting  Metropolis at 7:30.
