Effingham Asphalt stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead and went on to beat Teutopolis Warriors 5-2 in Babe Ruth Prep League play at Evergreen Hollow Park Tuesday.
Asphalt pushed across a third run in the fourth and scored two more in the fifth. Hunter Cripe had a triple and an RBI while Colin Fielitz had a double.
Evan Addis led the Warriors with a solo home run in the seventh.
In the second contest, Teutopolis Falcons edged Taylor Law Offices 13-12. T-town took a 3-1 first inning lead but Taylor tied in the second. T-town moved ahead with a run in the third but Taylor came back to lead 7-4 in the fourth and 12-4 in the fifth. T-town then pushed across nine runs in the sixth to pull out the victory.
T-town had six hits led by Hayden Ruholl with a single, home run and three RBI, Kyle Stewart with a double and two RBI, Andy Niebrugge with a double and an RBI and Dylan Overbeck with a double and an RBI.
Taylor Law was led by Zach McCabe with a single and three RBI.
