Dieterich Downs Cumberland in Baseball

Dieterich High School took a 3-0 first inning lead and went on for a 7-4 baseball victory over Cumberland Tuesday.

Cumberland knotted the score at 3-3 in the third then moved ahead 4-3 in the fourth. But the Movin' Maroons tallied three in the fifth and a final run in the seventh.

Paul Thoele picked up the pitching win on a six-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Thoele had a single, double and an RBI. Poe and C. Thoele added a double each. C. Thoele had two RBI. Campton and Bloemer had two singles each.

Cumberland was led by Kanizer with a triple and an RBI.
