Neoga Edges Newton, Area Baseball Roundup

NEOGA -- Neoga High School's Matt Kingery had a walkoff walkk with no outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh as the Indians edged Newton 9-8 in baseball action Tuesday.

The two squads were tied at 1-1 after the first inning. Neoga moved ahead 2-1 in the second but Newton had a four-runs third. The Eagles led 6-5 after five innings and 8-7 after six. The Indians then pulled out the victory in the bottom of the seventh.

Matt Kingery was the winning pitcher. Drew Ramert led the Indians offensively with a single, double, home run and three RBI. Matt Kignery had two singles, a home run and three RBI while Lee Nees had a single, home run and two RBI.

Newton was led by Brock Mammoser with a single, two doubles and two RBI while John Grunloh had a single, home run and two RBI. Conner Bierman added a double and an RBI.

At Neoga

At Beecher City

Brownstown stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead and was never headed in an 8-1 win over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick.

Cole Horner pitched a two-hitter with six walks and 10 strikeouts.

BSE had only three hits, all singles by Horner, Dylan Brooks and ISaac Maxey.

BCCH was led by Rexroad and Moeller with a double head.

Brownstown/St. elmo improves to 11-12 on the season.

At Teutopolis

The Wooden Shoes dominated in a 10-0 win over North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes banged out four home runs in the contest while Austin Johnson moved his pitching mark to 3-2 by throwing a three-hitter with one walk and five strikeouts.

John Kreke had a home run and three RBI while Devin Smith had a home run and two  RBI. Carson Hartke chipped in with a solo shot while Matthew Koester had a home run and two RBI.

Repking led the Cardinals with two singles. North Clay drops to 12-8.

T-town improves to 18-9 and is back in action Friday at Newton.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg banged out 16 hits in a 15-3 win over South Central Tuesday.

The Hatchets broke a 1-1 second inning tie with a seven-run third then had a five-run fourth and a two-run fifth.

Josh Overbeck led the way hitting with two singles, a double and three RBI while Dalton Armes had a single, double and two RBI, Htuchinson a single, double and three RBI, ISaac Kramer with two singels and Christian Kessler with two singles and an RBI.
