Altamont stepped out to a 1-0 first inning lead then went on to beat Effingham St. Anthony 4-1 in baseball competition Monday in a game that was moved from Altamont to Evergreen Park in Effingham.
The Bulldogs came back to knot the score at 1-1 in the third inning. Altamont then brought home two runs in the fifth and finished out with a final run in the seventh.
The Indians had six hits led by Kaleb Whitt with two doubles and three RBI and Klaiton Wolff with two singles and a double.
St. Anthony was led by Austin Kline with two singles and Adam Levitt with a double.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg claimed a 6-3 victory over Brownstown/St. Elmo.
BSE stepped out to a 1-0 first inning lead but WSS came back in the second to tie the score. The Hatchets took the 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth but BSE tied in the bottom of the frame then took a 3-2 lead in the fifth. The Hatchets moved ahead with two in the sixth and put the game away with a two-run seventh.
Nic Hutchinson was the winning pitcher on a seven-hitter with four walks and nine strikeouts.
Hutchinson had a solo home run while Isaac Kramer had a single, double and two RBI and Chase Thies three singles.
BSE was led by Lewis Brown with a double and Isaac Maxey with two singles

Newton handed Paris a 9-6 loss. Both teams had 12 hits in the contest and two errors.
Jansen pitched the win on a 10-hitter with five strikeouts. Mammoser earned the save on a two-hitter with two strikeouts.
Webb had three singles and drove in three runs for the Eagles.
