Effingham St. Anthony broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the fourth, tacked on three more in the fifth then held off St. Elmo/Brownstown in the bottom of the seventh for a 5-3 baseball victory Monday.
St. Elmo/Brownstown came back with a two-run seventh but couldn't make up the earlier lead by the Bulldogs.
St. Anthony had five hits in the game led by Brandon Puckett with a single, double and an RBI. Adam Levitt had two RBI and a single.
BSE was led by Nate Philpot with a single and double. Ireland had two RBI. BSE drops to 3-6 on the season.
Ethan Greene was the winning pitcher throwing a four-hitter with one walk and three strikeouts.

Dieterich fell victim to Charleston in a 6-0 contest Monday.
The Trojans tallied one in the first then tacked on another run in the third and four more in the fifth.
Harrell pitched a one-hitter for Charleston, allowing no walks and striking out 10.
The lone hit for the Movin' Maroons came from Goedde with a single.

Caleb Hill pitched Neoga to a 3-2 win over Shelbyville Monday.
Hill went all seven innings, allowing one hit, three walks while striking out five.
Meanwhile, the Indians outhit Shelbyville 6-1 as Drew Ramert had two singles, a double and scored all three runs. Ramert scored on wild pitches in each of the third and fifth innings for the tying and go-ahead runs.
Hill added a double and drove in a run. Neoga is now 5-5 on the season.
