Altamont Beats S.C., BSE, T-town Claim Baseball Wins

KINMUNDY -- Kaleb Whitt went two for three, helping Altamont High School to a 5-3 victory over South Central Monday. The game was moved to South Central.
Whitt singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth. Caden Miller worked out of six tough spots for the Indians. He pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits. Kolby Pemberton put away the final three outs to record the save.
In the top of the first, South Central grabbed the early lead 2-0.
Altamont stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring four runs on an error and two singles. The Indians tacked on a single run in the fourth. South Central came back with a run in the top of the seventh but couldn't overcome that third quarter surge by Altamont.
Klaiton Wolff had a single and double while Kalab Whitt had a single, double and two RBI. Kolby Pemberton had a double. Caden Miller added two singles and an RBI.
South Central was led by Gavin Raterman and Trent Seiler with a single and double each. Geiler added an RBI. Brett Harmeier had two singles.

Brownstown/St. Elmo broke a 2-2 opening inning tie with a three-run second and went on for a 12-8 win over Vandalia.
Landon Feezel picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Lewis Brown hit a home run and had three RBI for the winners. Cole Horner had a double while Dalton Denton had a single, double and two RBI.
BSE improves to 1-4 on the season.

Teutopolis zipped out to a 4-0 first inning lead, tacked on five in the second and three in the third and claimed a 12-2 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Monday.
The Wooden Shoes had 12 hits led by Carson Hartke with a single, double and three RBI, Kyle Smith two singles and two RBI, Cody Jansen with two singles and an RBI, John Kreke with a double and four RBI, Austin Johnson with two singles and an RBI and Jacob Roepke with two singles.
The Hatchets were led by Isaac Kramer with a single and double.
T-town improves to 6-2 on the season.

Oblong handed Newton a 6-3 loss in action Monday.
The two teams went scoreless through the first three innings before Oblong tallied two in the fourth. That was a lead they never relinquished.
Oblong had seven hits while the Eagles had four. Newton was led by Mitch Bierman with a home run and two RBI and Brock Mammoser with a double.
