J.T. Realmuto's two-out, two-RBI bloop single in the sixth broke a 2-2 tie and propelled the Miami Marlins to a 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

Realmuto lofted what normally would have been a routine fly ball to right-center field, but Cardinals' right fielder Stephen Piscotty had been positioned to guard the line moments earlier. The ball barely eluded diving center fielder Tommy Pham, allowing Giancarlo Stanton and Martin Prado to score.

The Marlins' comeback overshadowed a strong start by Jaime Garcia. The Cardinals' lefty didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning, when Miami struck for two runs.

Realmuto played a role in that rally, too, recording the Marlins' first hit, a single, then scoring one batter later on Adeiny Hechavarria's double.

Marlins ace Jose Fernandez spent much of the afternoon working on off-speed pitches. One in particular didn't work out: Pham smacked a 3-2 curveball over the left field wall, giving St. Louis a 2-0 lead in the fourth. Greg Garcia followed with a single that ended Fernandez's afternoon. He allowed five hits and walked three while striking out six in 3 2/3 innings.

Mariners 12, Cubs 9

After Robinson Cano homered in each of his first two at-bats, Seattle Mariners manager Scott Servais heard a fan throw out a challenge:

"You hit one to right, you hit one to left. Let me see you hit one to center."

"And he did," Servais said.

Cano had three home runs and seven RBI to help the Mariners outlast the Chicago Cubs 12-9 Sunday in a game that was delayed for several minutes by a swarm of bees in center field.

Cano had a two-run and a three-run homer off Cubs starter Jason Hammel, who allowed nine runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings. Cano added a two-run shot off Trevor Cahill in the eighth and finished 4 for 4.

White Sox 13, Giants 9

Travis Ishikawa, a postseason hero for the Giants during their last World Series run, drove in five runs and finished a single short of the cycle to help the Chicago White Sox beat San Francisco 13-9 on Sunday.

Ishikawa sent the Giants to the World Series in 2014 with a three-run walk-off homer in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series, and he drew cheers from San Francisco fans Sunday. He hit a two-run homer and had a three-run triple against his former team.

Avisail Garcia and Todd Frazier each added two-run home runs for Chicago.

Brandon Crawford had three hits and drove in two runs and Brandon Belt added two RBI for the Giants, who led 5-0 after two innings. Mac Williamson hit a two-run home run.

Giants pitcher Jake Peavy had one rough inning. He gave up three earned runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings.

White Sox starter Mat Latos was shelled for five earned runs on seven hits in four innings and hit the Giants' Hunter Pence in the upper back with a pitch. He also balked in a run, walked three and struck out two.
