WSS Takes Doubleheader, Neoga Drops Twinbill

MULBERRY GROVE -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School captured a baseball doubleheader over Mulberry Grove Saturday.

Windsor/Stew-Stras won the opener 17-5 in five innings. The Hatchets took a 15-3 lead after three then ended the game with two more in the fifth.

Nic Hutchinson had three singles, a double and four RBI for the winners while Josh Overbeck had two singles.

In the second game, the Hatchets claimed a 7-6 victory. The score was knotted at 1-1 before the Aces took a 6-1 lead in the fourth. The Hatchets came back with four in the fifth and two more in the sixth to pull out the win.

Chase Thies had a triple and three RBI while Isaac Kramer and Dalton Armes had two singles and an RBI each. Overbeck added a single and double.

At Assumption

In a doubleheader Saturday, Neoga fell victim to Assumption Central A&M in a doubleheader.

Central A&M won the opener 3-0 behind seven hits. Matt Kingery led Neoga with a double.

In the second contest, Central A&M won it 2-1 with a run in the bottom of the 10th. Central A&M took a 1-0 lead in the third before Neoga tied in the top of the seventh.

Kingery had a double, home run and an RBI while Ramert added a double.
