St. Anthony Wins Over Stew-Stras Friday

The St. Anthony Bulldogs posted an 11-run third inning on the way to a 12-0 victory over the Stewardson-Strasburg Comets in high school baseball Friday.
The Bulldogs had scored a single tally in the first inning before making the big noise in the third.
Zach Gardewine got the win for St. Anthony, going three innings and allowing two hits and a walk while striking out four. Ben Helton fell to 3-2 on the fall in taking the loss for the Comets, allowing all 11 runs, all unearned, on seven hits and a walk while fanning three.
Jones and Ohnesorge had the Comets' hits. Ben Hecht went 3 for 3 for the Bulldogs, scoring twice and driving in four runs. Ritz had two hits, scored a run and drove in two runs. Jacob Lorenz and Eli Dasenbrock each scored twice, Austin Bushur had a hit, scored and drove in a run, Alex Hoelscher and Neil Williams each scored a run, Gardewine got a hit and scored, and Niebrugge got a hit, scored and drove in a run.
Stew-Stras is now 10-5 on the fall, 6-3 in the NTC, and is back in action Monday at 4pm in NTC Tournament play, hosting Windsor. St. Anthony plays host to St. Elmo in the tournament Monday at 4pm.
