Teutopolis Blasts St. Anthony, 11-1

Teutopolis High School continued its domination in baseball action by blasting Effingham St. Anthony 11-1 in five innings Monday evening.
The Wooden Shoes scored two runs in the first inning then had a two-run inning in the second and third, tallied one in the fourth and finished the game with four runs in the fifth. St. Anthony's lone run came in the top of the fifth.
M. Gillespie pitched a five-hitter with no walks and 13 strikeouts. Teammates banged out 13 hits in the game led by J. Waldhoff with two singles, a double and an RBI, R. Hardiek with three singles, J. Kenter with two singles and two RBI, K. Pruemer with a double and C. Wendling with a triple and an RBI.
St. Anthony was led by B. Hecht with a single and an RBI.
T-town is back in action Thursday against Windsor. St. Anthony returns to play today, weather permitting, at Stewardson-Strasburg.
