Shoes Trounce Cisne, Altamont Beats S.C., BSE Wins At EIC Tourney

CISNE -- Teutopolis High School banged out 16 hits and ended the game in the fifth inning over Cisne by a 14-0 count Tuesday in baseball action.

John Kreke hit a home run and had three RBI for the winners while teammate Matthew Koester had a single, home run and three RBI. Austin Johnson hit a single, double and had three RBI, Tyler Westendorf a single and double, Kyle Smith two singles and two RBI, Jason Kenter a double and an RBI and Devin Smith a double and an RBI.

Lane Belleville picked up the pitching win, going three innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out five. Conner Mette came on to pitch two innings, allowing no hits, four walks and striking out eight.

At Altamont

South Central held a 3-2 lead until the fourth when Altamont broke loose for six runs and went on to beat the Cougars 8-4 in National Trail Conference play Tuesday.

Altamont's Caden Miller started off the sixth with a single, his second of the game. Klaiton Wolff followed with a double. Devon Guerrattaz also singled while Kaleb Whitt reached on an error. Brandon Hosick followed with a two RBI single. Alek Biggs then doubled home two more runs. N. Miller had an RBI triple to finish the inning.

N. Miller ended the contest with a single, triple and an RBI while C. Miller had two singles and an RBI, Wolff a double and Guerrattaz two singles.

South Central had nine errors in the contest. Ratermann led the Cougars in hitting with a single, double and two RBI. McCown added a single and double.

At Vandalia

Brownstown/St. Elmo ended this contest in the fifth by downing Ramsey 11-1 in Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament play Tuesday.

BSE took a 4-0 first inning lead and had eight hits. Lewis Brown had a single and double for the winners while Landon Feezel had three doubles and drove in two runs. BSE improves to 6-8 and will meet Mulberry Grove at 7 p.m. today.

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick faced Mulberry Grove and captured a 10-5 victory. BCCH faces Ramsey today at 4:15 p.m.

BSE is 2-0 in the tourney, BCCH 1-1, Mulberry Grove 1-1 and Ramsey 0-2.
