T-town Beats Altamont, Area Baseball Roundup

TEUTOPOLIS -- In a baseball doubleheader Tuesday, Teutopolis High School handed Altamont two losses.

The Wooden Shoes won the opening game 4-1. The score was tied at 1-1 until the fourth inning when the Wooden Shoes tallied two runs then tacked on a final run in the fifth.

T-town had nine hits in the contest led by John Kreke with a single and double, Cody Jansen with two singles and two RBI and Tyler Westendorf with two singles.

Altamont was led by Klaiton Wolff with a single, double and an RBI.

In the second game, Teutopolis brought home 12 runs and had nine hits for a 12-4 win over Altamont.

The Shoes held a 5-2 lead until the sixth when Altamont pulled within 5-4. But the Shoes came back with a seven-run bottom of the sixth.

Dylan Bloemer had a triple and an RBI for the winners while Matthew Koester had a double and an RBI and Jason Kenter had a double and two RBI. Lee Hardiek added two singles and an RBI.

Miller, Pemberton and Hammer led Altamont with two singles each.

At Mulberry Grove

Mulberry Grove picked up an 11-1 win over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick. Mulberry Grove stepped out to a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked back.

BCCH had three hits in the game as Wachtel had a double, Rexroad and a triple and Moeller a single.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg edged out to a 1-0 second inning lead then tallied seven runs in the third and seven more in the fourth to blank Ramsey 15-0 in five innings.

Kemper picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter. Moshenrose had a double and two RBI while Overbeck had two singles and an RBI, Hutchinson a double, triple and four RBI and Kramer a double and an RBI.

At Strasburg
